Game #18: New York Rangers vs Florida Panthers Open Thread

After getting embarrassed on two nights ago and watching 50% of their Florida road trip go up in smoke, the Rangers are back in action tonight. After spending their Thursday getting laughed out of Amalie Arena by the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Blueshirts will head into the BB&T Center to take on the Florida Panthers and salvage this two game swing.

The Panthers were in Madison Square Garden on Sunday, and the two teams played to a 5-5 draw after 65:00 of hockey. After meeting twice in the same week, these old Atlantic Division rivals won’t meet again until the end of March, so look for both teams to find their extra gear and go all out to earn two points. A regulation win would give the Panthers a victory in the season series.

Player to Watch: Artemiy Panarin

Panarin was Blueshirt Banter’s player to watch when these two teams tangled on Sunday, and Panarin responding by notching two assists with the spotlight on him. Now in the midst of a ten game point streak, (4-11-15) Panarin will look to keep his strong play going against a Panthers squad that did everything in their power to woo him to Sunrise in free agency this past summer. With all eyes on him, look for Panarin to rise to the occasion once more.

Enjoy the game!
