All eyes are on the NHL and how the league will respond after the NBA suspended their season.

The decision was swiftly made after Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz tested positive for coronavirus and a game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder was cancelled tonight.

It was reported by Pierre LeBrun that a statement from the NHL would be coming following the NBA’s announcement.

At the moment, the NHL has not come to a final decision on whether to suspend the 2019-20 season indefinitely. Tonight’s statement noted that the league will continue to consult with medical experts and assess how to proceed moving forward. The NHL will update further tomorrow.

Discussions will continue tomorrow between the league and owners, while the NHLPA will work with their executive committee to figure out the best path forward for all involved.
