A Message From Blueshirt Banter

New, comments
Chicago Blackhawks v New York Rangers

Before we begin, we’d just like to extend our thoughts and wishes toward you and your loved ones, and hope that you’re staying safe and healthy through this time. Health and safety is paramount right now, and keeping a level head is key.

With New York continuing to see a rise in cases — which will only continue as more testing happens — not having sports around as an escape might make things even more difficult. Anyone who has been grocery shopping recently understands people are hunkering down, and will be looking for things to do with their free time. And for those of you who visit this site regularly, we want you to know we have no intention of turning the lights off.

First and foremost, we are greatly thankful for the continued support of this website, the podcast, and our entire team. Right now 2020 is looking to be yet another record breaking year for the site, and a big part of that is because of all of you.

Now, you might be wondering what comes next. And the most honest answer we have for you is: we don’t know, and it would be wrong to pretend like we did.

This site has existed through a lockout before, but this is a little different. Hopefully it’s temporary — but the safety of the players, officials, coaching staff, and fans is paramount. If a Stanley Cup can’t be awarded then c’est la vie.

We are not sure what content is going to look like moving forward, but we can assure you it will be lighter than what you’re used to on a regular basis. That said, we’ll do our best to try and find as many stories as we can. Hopefully the Rangers are active on social media.

In the interim though, please feel free to continue to use the comments as a way to communicate with one another. We know many of you have built long-lasting relationships here and what better time to continue those than when you’re (hopefully) working from home.

If there are specific things you’d like to see written about, or there are ways we can help pass the time, please let us know. This is uncharted territory for all of us, and together we will all get through it as best as we can.

Above all, remember to take deep breaths. Try and take some breaks from social media when you can, and don’t sweat the small stuff.

On behalf of the entire Blueshirt Banter team, best wishes to you and your family.
