With their backs against the wall, the Rangers turn to the rookie netminder in game three.

With the Rangers down 0-2 in their Stanley Cup Qualifier series against the Carolina Hurricanes, head coach David Quinn announced that Igor Shesterkin gets the start in goal after missing the first games being “unfit to play”.

Quinn also announced that Jesper Fast is still out after taking a big hit in the opening minute of the series from Brady Skjei and Brendan Lemieux is returning to the lineup after missing two games due to a suspension. Steven Fogarty will sit out tonight.

Tonight’s game is do or die for the Blueshirts and hopefully they’ll be able to manage some kind of effort this time against the Hurricanes. Puck drops at 8pm tonight.
