Game #3: New Jersey Devils Vs New York Rangers Open Thread

After splitting a pair of games at home with the New York Islanders, the Blueshirts will look to defend home ice once again tonight. Jack Hughes, Nikta Gusev, and the rest of the New Jersey Devils.

Former Rangers’ assistant coach Lindy Ruff left the organization prior to their brief stay in the Toronto bubble to become the Devils’ head coach, and he’s gotten his team off to a fast start by going 1-0-1 against the reigning Presidents Trophy winning Boston Bruins.

After Saturday night’s thumping against the Islanders, David Quinn has opted to roll with the same lineup once again. Alexandar Georgiev will get the start in goal, Tony DeAngelo will be a healthy scratch, and the Rangers will look to win the first of eight meetings against their rivals across the Hudson this season.

Player to Watch: Pavel Buchnevich

With a two goal, three point performance in New York’s previous game, Buchnevich earned praise from coach Quinn about his development into more of a complete player. Look for another stellar effort out of the talented Russian forward tonight.
