Game #10: New York Rangers vs Vancouver Canucks Open Thread

Following a win in their first ever game against the Seattle Kraken two nights ago, the Rangers have returned to the Great White North for the start of a three game swing through western Canada. That swing will start British Columbia, as it’ll be a rematch of the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals on tap tonight between the Rangers and Vancouver Canucks.

Vancouver has had a sluggish start to the season, sporting a 3-5-1 record thus far. In spite of that, the team still has a handful of dangerous playmakers including Elias Pattersson up front, Quinn Hughes on the blueline, and former Blueshrt Jonathan Tanner Miller on the wing.

Player to Watch: Adam Fox

As the recipient of a shiny, new contract extension, Fox’s outstanding play since arriving in the NHL was finally rewarded with appropriate financial compensation yesterday. The reigning Norris Trophy winner signed a seven year, $66.5 million contract extension that will keep him on Broadway until the conclusion of the 2028-29 season. Keep an eye on Fox to demonstrate why the Rangers were eager and willing to make him one of the highest paid defenders in the league.

Enjoy the game, and nobody will blame you for dozing off midway through. 10:00 PM start times are brutal.
