Game #18: Boston Bruins vs New York Rangers Open Thread

For the first time in nearly a year, the Rangers will be playing a home game in front of fans at Madison Square Garden tonight. The last time fans were in attendance at a Rangers game was March 7th of last year. The Blueshirts fell by a 6-4 margin to the New Jersey Devils, two nights after Mika Zibanejad’s five goal effort against the Washington Capitals.

The Knicks have already hosted fans for a pair of games at the Garden, and the Rangers can expect a number similar to the roughly 2,000 fans that saw Manhattan’s basketball team to be in the seats for tonight’s game against Boston.

Player to Watch: Ryan Lindgren

Lindgren was originally drafted by the Bruins during the 2016 Entry Draft. Midway through his second season as a prospect in the organization, the Bruins shipped him to the Rangers as part of the package to acquire Rick Nash at the 2018 trade deadline. Lindgren has been attached to Adam Fox’s hip for the majority of his NHL career, which means he gets plenty of ice time skating alongside New York’s best defenseman. Look for Lindgren to assert himself physically against his former team, and get the Garden faithful into the action early.

Enjoy the game!
