Check another box off as Chris Drury has taken care of another one of his pending restricted free agents as the team announced that Adam Edstrom has agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension.

The details of the contract are pretty much identical to the extension Edstrom’s linemate and good buddy Matt Rempe signed last week.

Appearing in 51 games with the Rangers before suffering an injury that put an early end to his season, Edstrom registered five goals and four assists for a total of nine points. This was his first full season in the NHL as he and Rempe have seemingly graduated from the American Hockey League and are ready to take on a full time fourth line role with the Rangers. Given their size, stature, and energy, the two forwards, who combine for an average height of 6-8, have the potential to make up a unique identity line for the Rangers as they hope to hold onto their fourth line jobs heading into their second full season.
