No notes from the game last night. You don’t want them anyway. Instead we’re in full trade deadline mode. Wooo! The New York Rangers couldn’t sit pat. Pat of that might have been Kevin Shattenkirk going to Washington — making them late NHL favorites for the Stanley Cup.

Let me show you a tale with two chapters: I may be way off base but the Pitt/Wash rumors for Shattenkirk tell me Gorton isn't budging and St. Louis is panicking. Hold steady, Jeff! — Joe Fortunato (@BlueshirtBanter) February 27, 2017 I understand there are a few conditions

* I thought that, for the most part, that was a very good hockey game played by two teams who have fanbases who think they’d have a walk in the park if they happened to meet each other in the first round rather than anyone else in their division. * The

As we approach the March 1st NHL Trade Deadline the rumor machine will begin to spin and whir at an ever-increasing volume until it becomes overwhelming. It’s already started to an extent with everyone’s favorite New York Rangers rumor Kevin Shattenkirk. There’s been a longstanding “secret”

* Before the game we talked about how that particular matchup was going to be a pretty big litmus test for this team. The Rangers played a fantastically dominant first period, a rough second period and locked things down in the third. That’s been something of a pattern for this

I missed enough of the Rangers loss to the Islanders last night that I couldn't, in good faith, do any type of notes story. So rather than that, we’ll do this. Here’s something that’s been bugging me for a while: The idea of the Rangers
