Early Free Agency Recap: Hartford Wolf Pack Edition
Free agency is here, and with it comes change to the Wolf Pack roster. Let's recap their moves in the early days of free agency.

NHL free agency is officially here. While most of the big names available ended up re-signing with their teams or were involved in sign-and-trades to keep them off the market, free agency at the AHL level has been much more active. Players constantly shuffle around as teams look to fill out their affiliates.
The Wolf Pack had some notable departures and arrivals in the opening days of free agency. Let's dive into an early look on how the 2025-26 team is shaping up.
Notable Additions
Trey Fix-Wolansky, Forward

Signed one-year, two-way contract from Columbus Blue Jackets
Of all the early additions to the Wolf Pack roster, veteran forward Trey Fix-Wolansky is easily the most exciting. Fix-Wolansky is a certified scorer at the AHL level, recording 259 points (112 G, 147 A) across 289 AHL games, all with the Cleveland Monsters. Fix-Wolansky is Cleveland's all-time leader in regular season goals, assists, points, power play goals, and game-winning goals.

Fix-Wolansky has recorded at least 60 points in each of the last three seasons, with his 71 points in the 2022-23 campaign good for seventh in the AHL. He's also represented the Monsters at each of the last two AHL All-Star games.
Assuming he comes to the Connecticut capital, the Wolf Pack are getting an absolute force in Fix-Wolansky. The Wolf Pack's offense ranked 29th in goals scored during the 2024-25 season and were just one of four teams to score less than 200 goals on the season. Fix-Wolansky's 26 goals and 60 points from last season would've led the Wolf Pack. For a team that needs to improve their offense in order to return to the Calder Cup Playoffs, Fix-Wolansky is an elite add. He'll play a key top-six role on a fairly young Wolf Pack team next season.
