Welcome to Freaky Friday which, if you listen to the podcast, might be another movie Joe has never seen. Nevertheless, it shares a similar plot line as this dog days of summer article. In the movie, the mom (played by Jaime Lee Curtis in the 2003 remake) and daughter (played by Lindsay Lohan) who couldn’t be more different from each other, wake up one morning to find they have switched bodies. In this spin on Freaky Friday we’re going to pretend that the New York Mets have woken up as the New York Rangers and vice versa. Now you’re probably wondering what those lineups would look like. Glad you asked! Let’s start with the Rangers as Mets.

Full disclosure: I know Rangers fans who are also baseball fans are pretty split between Mets and Yankees, so if you’re unhappy that this isn’t more geared toward the Yankees, I suggest peer pressuring Chip or Eric into doing a Yankees version if interested.

Let's get into it!

Starting Lineup

1) Artemi Panarin (SS)

If you’ve ever been to a Rangers game in person, you’ve likely seen Artemi Panarin lob two pucks towards the net and sprint off the ice at the end of warm ups. That’s essentially how most of Panarin’s at bats would go. He’s going to make contact more often than not and sprint to first to get things started. He’s undoubtedly the team’s most consistent contributor which is precisely why he’s leading off and playing short. Aside from Igor Shesterkin and Adam Fox, he’s the Rangers most important player and easily one of the most talented, which is typically what you’re looking for in a shortstop.
