It's no secret that the Hartford Wolf Pack endured a rollercoaster start to the season.

From October 31 through November 15, the Wolf Pack lost seven straight contests. Four of those were overtime losses, and just one was decided by more than two goals. Frustrations were high among players, coaches, and fans alike.

Since then, however, the Wolf Pack have started to find their game. In their last nine outings, the Wolf Pack have complied a record of 5-4-0-0, helping them keep pace in a tight Atlantic Division.

There are a number of reasons why the Wolf Pack have been able to turn things around as of late. They've gotten much better 60-minute efforts, compared to the slow starts or late collapses they saw earlier in the campaign. They've also gotten much better puck luck and have started filling the net to the level that's expected of them.

However, there's been one player that's been central to the Wolf Pack's recent success: rookie forward Gabe Perreault.

Since being assigned to Hartford on November 15 after a brief stint with the New York Rangers, Perreault has been the offensive force the Wolf Pack have needed. He's recorded seven points (5 G, 2 A) across the nine contests and is has been playing at or near a point-per-game pace on the year; Perreault currently has17 points (10 G, 7 A) in 18 contests, leading the team. Perreault has been clutch as well, notching his first career game-winning goal on November 29 at Cleveland before delivering a much needed insurance tally against Springfield on December 5.

Despite the personal successes, Perreault was quick to acknowledge the contributions from his linemates, Justin Dowling and Jaroslav Chmelař, as reasons for his recent hot streak.

"Our line's been playing really well," Perreault told Blueshirt Banter following the Wolf Pack's 5-2 win over Springfield on December 5, a game in which he recorded two goals and an assist. "Me and Dowls have been playing together for pretty much the whole year, so I think we've found a lot of chemistry. Jaro doesn't get enough credit for what he's doing for us. We're kind of cooking as a line and trying to help the team out."
