Game #11: New York Rangers vs Minnesota Wild Open Thread

After a quick pit stop for a home game at Madison Square Garden, the Rangers are back on the road. The Blueshirts find themselves in the State of Hockey tonight as they get set to square off with Mats Zuccarello, Jonas Brodin, and the rest of the Minnesota Wild.

The group of Rangers skating tonight is one very low on star power in the wake of the pyrrhic victory over the Carolina Hurricanes two nights ago. Igor Shesterkin was banged up and is listed as day-to-day, so Jonathan Quick will start in goal while Louis Domingue has been recalled from AHL Hartford to back Quick up.

Filip Chytil was placed on injured reserve with what is believed to be a concussion, and Adam Fox is now on long term injured reserve for a lower body injury. Barclay Goodrow will also not be skating tonight, although he remains healthy and stood home for the birth of a child. Jonny Brodzinski and Connor Mackey have also been recalled from the minors in corresponding moves, so the Blueshirts’ depth will be tested tonight.

Player to Watch: Zac Jones

Tonight will the start of what should be consistent playing time for Jones. With Fox out until at leats November 29th, Jones will have plenty of runway to prove himself as a full time NHLer in what is shaping up to be a make or break campaign for the former third round selection. Keep an eye on Jones to make an impact tonight.

Enjoy the game!
