The Rangers are coming off a disappointing loss against the Detroit Red Wings and desperately need to bounce back. The Blueshirts are traveling to take on the Vegas Golden Knights in their first of three games on the West Coast. The Golden Knights come into tonight's contest three points out of first place in the Pacific Division.
Golden Knights' star Jack Eichel is currently tied for 11th in points with 24 as he aims to continue his impressive season. After missing Sunday's game to take care of a personal matter, Mike Sullivan will be back behind the bench for the Rangers. Scott Morrow will likely remain in the lineup with Matthew Robertson, as Will Borgen is a game-time decision. Igor Shesterkin will be protecting the pipes for New York tonight.
Player to Watch: J.T. Miller
Frankly, the Rangers need more from their captain, for whom they gave up numerous assets, including the 12th overall pick. Miller only has nine points through two games played this season and only three points in his last 11 games.
While it is possible Miller is still dealing with the fallout from his injury during training camp, if he is on the ice, he needs to be better. Miller continues to play on the first line and first power play unit despite his poor performance. The team's captain needs to step up to help generate offense on a consistent basis.
Enjoy the game!
