A valiant effort was enough to take yesterday's game to overtime, but eventually the Colorado Avalanche would get the better of the Rangers. The Blueshirts have to move on quickly as they look to finish off this two-game homestand with a victory against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Golden Knight was the better of the two teams in their matchup in November, winning 3-2.

Jonathan Quick is expected to start for the first time since getting injured in the game against the Utah Mammoth. While it likely won't impact the lineup, the Blueshirts did send down Brennan Othmann and recall Jaroslav Chmelar from the Hartford Wolf Pack. On the other side, the Golden Knights have a banged-up goalie room with Adin Hill on injured reserve, and Carter Hart is day-to-day, impacting his status for tonight.

Player to Watch: Scott Morrow

Since Adam Fox has been hurt, Scott Morrow has been a consistent member of the lineup on the bottom pair with Matthew Robertson. This has allowed Morrow to grow his game and is showing fans the reason people were excited to get him as part of the deal for K'Andre Miller. Morrow has made some great passes in transition and has made some nice moves when the puck is on his stick.

With the power play unit struggling without a defenseman, it may be sooner rather than later that he gets pumped onto the first unit. Head coach Mike Sullivan trusted him enough to put him in during overtime, where he held his own on both sides of the ice. While the Rangers don't have many kids, he has been one of the few with the potential to make a real impact, and Morrow has done just that.

Enjoy the game!
