Game #46: New York Rangers vs Anaheim Ducks Open Thread

After taking an L in Los Angeles less than 24 hours ago, the Blueshirts have an opportunity to bounce back  from their latest defeat against the Ducks tonight. The Rangers have pulled up to that Honda Center in Anaheim for the back end of this back to back set against California teams, and just as they were last night, are in desperate need of win.

Anaheim also played yesterday, taking a 5-3 loss at the hands of the David Quinn-led San Jose Sharks, and will be looking to wash away the sting and humiliation that comes from losing to a team headed by New York’s former bench boss. Igor Shesterkin will get the start for the Blueshirts tonight after Jonathan Quick got the nod last night.

Player to Watch: Artemiy Panarin

After a host start to the month that saw Panarin record nine points (3-6-9) in the first five games, the superstar winger has cooled off to the tune of only three points (1-2-3) in the five game since then, and was held off the scoresheet entirely last night. Panarin only has one stretch of multiple games without a point this season so keep an eye on New York’s top point scorer as he looks to keep that statistic from happening a second time on the year.

Enjoy the game!
