Game #53: Buffalo Sabres vs New York Rangers Open Thread
For the fourth time in five games following the All-Star break, the Blueshirts are set to clash with an Atlantic Divison foe. Jack Eichel, Jimmy Vesey, and the rest of the Buffalo Sabres will come into Madison Square Garden for the second and final time this season. After dominating the Sabres en route to a 6-2 victory back on October 24th, David Quinn’s squad will look to secure a victory in the season series with a win tonight.
After roaring out of the gate with an 8-1-1 record before losing to New York, the Sabres have seen their season spiral out of control once again. The team has struggled to a 15-22-6 mark since getting shellacked at MSG, and the Sabres’ home loss to the Red Wings last night could very well be the rock bottom of their season. If the Rangers have things their way, the Sabres will hit rock bottom for the second time in 24 hours by the end of tonight’s contest.
Player to Watch: Ryan Strome
After tallying two goals the last time these teems met, Strome will duplicate the strong effort he put on display earlier this season. Although he won’t be flanked by Artemiy Panarin tonight, look for Strome to make an impact one way or another.
Enjoy the game!
