The 2026 Milan Olympics delivered fans, players, and coaches a lifetime of memories, and now it is back to New York Rangers hockey. The Rangers enter tonight's game last in the Metropolitan Division, while their opponent, the Philadelphia Flyers, are in sixth place.
Coming back from the break, the Blueshirts have shuffled their lineup around. Adam Fox, Igor Shesterkin, and Conor Sheary have come off injured reserve and will play today. Scott Morrow will come out of the lineup, and Brett Berard has been sent down to the Hartford Wolf Pack. Brendan Brisson also draws into the lineup and will make his Rangers debut.
Mika Zibanejad is back on the ice for the #NYR this morning, with the lineup looking like this:

Cuylle - Trocheck - Lafrenière

Player to Watch: Brendan Brisson
Brisson was acquired at last season's trade deadline as part of the deal that sent Reilly Smith back to the Vegas Golden Knights. Since then, he has played for the Wolf Pack, where he has 13 goals and 10 assists this season. Six of his goals have come on the power play, and he will be on the team's second unit tonight.
In a season that has gone wrong in every sense of the word, giving a 24-year-old can't hurt. As veteran players continue to be moved out, more AHL and younger players will play for the Rangers. Now, it is time to watch the transition as general manager Chris Drury continues his retool.
Enjoy the game!
