The first installment of the Hudson River Rivalry is upon us, and both teams are coming off a win. The New York Rangers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in their last outing while the New Jersey Devils secured an overtime victory against the Detroit Red Wings. The Rangers are currently one point behind the Carolina Hurricanes for first place in the Metropolitan Division.
The Rangers sent Cole Beaudoin down to the Hartford Wolf Pack and recalled Justin Dowling, who will replace him on the fourth line. Matt Rempe remains in the lineup, and Jaroslav Chmelar will sit for a second straight game. Devils forward Luke Evangelista likely draws back into the lineup after missing two games due to an illness.
Lines and defensive pairings are the same for the Rangers, outside of Justin Dowling skating at 4C:

National Broadcast: ESPN+
Radio: 880 AM
Player to Watch: Will Cuylle
Things between the Rangers and the Devils always seem to get chippy, and Will Cuylle brings the physicality and offense. Cuylle has six points so far this season and three goals in his last two games. When on the third line, Cuylle has the ability to tilt the ice in the Rangers' favor.

Cuylle and his linemates have created depth for the Rangers, which they were lacking in the last season. They have also shown an ability to match up with opposing teams' top lines, creating opportunities for others on the team.
Enjoy the game!
