Injury Report: Jacob Trouba Out 4-6 Weeks with Upper Body Injury

Jacob Trouba missed the third period of Tuesday’s loss vs. the New Jersey Devils, and the team has announced he will miss the next four to six weeks with an upper body injury.

Update: Trouba is out with a broken thumb.

This season Trouba’s posted a slash line including a 42.29 GF%, A 48.55 CF%, and a 50.71 xGF% while primarily playing with K’Andre Miller which has been the team’s second most frequent pairing behind Adam Fox and Ryan Lindgren.

This latest injury to the Rangers puts the team in a bind, as they already had substitutes like Anthony Bitetto and Libor Hajek in the lineup. At this point the team may have to look into their options in Hartford, the waiver circuit, or even a trade.

His departure certainly will have an impact on the penalty kill, as pointed out by Shayna Goldman.

And while the team certainly has been bitten by the injury bug as of late, there is some good news... Jack Johnson has returned to practice... as has Artemiy Panarin and K’Andre Miller.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available, as the team is likely to make a move of some kind ahead of Thursday’s game vs. the Philadelphia Flyers. So much for 2021 being different than 2020 eh?
