Following his NHL debut two seasons ago where he made quite an impression, Rempe spent time between the Rangers and the Hartford Wolf Pack this season where his all-around game improved significantly. The 22-year-old forward registered a total of three goals and five assists in 42 games played with the Rangers. As mentioned in Larry Brooks’ post below, Rempe has been back in the New York area and is already working with skills coaches and other trainers to continue to improve his game.

Rempe will undoubtedly be an option for the fourth line and, alongside Adam Edstrom, should be an important part of it moving forward. With the threat of offer sheets looming this summer, it was equally as important for Drury to get this extension done as soon as possible as it was keeping the AAV under $1 million. The extension comes as a well-deserved raise for a young forward who has worked hard to improve his game and has come a long way since his debut. Congrats, Rempe!
