New York Rangers News: Brady Skjei Recalled From Hartford For Tomorrow's Game
The New York Rangers have recalled Brady Skjei from the Hartford Wolf Pack for tomorrow's game against the Buffalo Sabres.
With the New York Rangers only traveling with five healthy defensemen, they have recalled Brady Skjei from the Hartford Wolf Pack on an emergency basis. Skjei will suit up for tomorrow's game against the Buffalo Sabres with both Marc Staal and Dylan McIlrath sidelined by minor injuries. Staal missed yesterday's game against the New York Islanders with back spasms, while McIlrath left the game in the first period with an apparent knee injury.
Being that this was yet another emergency recall, it will not count against the four allotted post-trade deadline call-ups for the Rangers. For Skjei, this will be his third time returning with the Rangers this season, appearing in three previous games against the Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota Wild, and New Jersey Devils. In those games, he has looked extremely poised with the puck, and you can tell he is going to be a very special player in the very near future.
Injuries have started to pile up lately for the Rangers, but thankfully, they will have layoff until Saturday following tomorrow's game against the Sabres. That should give Henrik Lundqvist, Marc Staal, Dylan McIlrath, and Rick Nash some additional time to heal up. Hopefully by next weekend, the Rangers will have an entirely healthy lineup for the final push to the playoffs.
