Rangers Recall Goaltender Alexandar Georgiev from Hartford Wolf Pack

Georgiev is in his first season with the Pack.

The New York Rangers have recalled goaltender Alexandar Georgiev from the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The transaction was made because Ondrej Pavelec left Friday’s 4-3 victory over the Calgary Flames after the first period with a knee injury.

Georgiev made 43 saves in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Syracuse Crunch on Friday evening, and improved his stat line to 12-11-6 with a 2.97 GAA and .908 save percentage on the season.

More on Pavelec’s injury should be known after practice, but he isn’t expected to join the Rangers on their upcoming road trip.
