Open Game Thread: Rangers vs Devils

For the final time this season, the Rangers and Devils will square off for two points, and more importantly, bragging rights. With New York already winning the first three meetings of the season series, the Devils will look to avoid complete humiliation by pulling off an upset tonight and salvaging the season series. Meanwhile, the Rangers would like nothing more than to complete the sweep tonight, and inch closer to locking up a Wild Card berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Alain Vigneault has elected against making any lineup changes, sticking with his tried and true policy of not changing a winning lineup. With both teams essentially going through the motions at this point in the season, albeit for different reasons, tonight's meeting could lack the typical intensity of a Devils-Rangers clash. But with New Jersey looking to avoid getting swept for the first time since the 2014-15 season, they'll have their pride on the line. Look for John Hynes' squad to come out flying, and if they can have it their way, send a majority of the fans at the Prudential Center home disappointed.

Player to Watch: With Antti Raanta alternating between stellar and sub-par efforts as of late, look for the Rangers' current #1 goalie to try and establish some consistency tonight. While Henrik Lundqvist is slated to take control of the crease back once he is healthy, a couple solid games from Raanta should be enough for Alain Vigneault to reconsider.

Enjoy the game!
