Open Game Thread: Rangers vs Oilers
Can the Rangers make it three wins in a row?
Another night, another late game in Western Canada.
After defeating the Calgary Flames 3-1 last night thanks to a brilliant performance by Henrik Lundqvist the Rangers are looking to win their third straight game. Standing in the way are the woeful Edmonton Oilers who are going to miss the 2018 Playoffs despite an abundance of young talent.
Edmonton has a 4-6-0 record in its last 10 games and has lost their last two contests. To the surprise of no one Connor McDavid is leading his team in scoring with 77 points in 64 games. The runner-up for the Oilers is Leon Draisaitl who currently has 58 points in 60 games. At the deadline the Oilers dealt Brandon Davidson to the Islanders for a third round pick, Mark Letestu to the Predators for Pontus Aberg, and Patrick Maroon to the Devils for J.D. Dudek and a third round pick.
Can Ryan Spooner continue his magic tonight in Alberta? Is this another opportunity for Alexandar Georgiev to shine? We will soon find out.
