Preseason Game #1: New York Rangers vs Boston Bruins Open Thread

It may only be a preseason game, but the New York Rangers are back in action for the first time in the 2023-24 campaign tonight. The Blueshirts will be shipping up to Boston in an Original Six matchup to kick off the preseason.

As per usual with preseason games, there will only be a handful of veterans playing in tonight’s game. Jonathan Quick and Louis Domingue will split goaltending duties. Filip Chytil and Alexis Lafreniere headline the veterans skating in tonight’s game, and they’ll be skating alongside a group of prospects and other players likely destined for Hartford.

Player to Watch: Adam Sykora

While Sykora has flown under the radar since the Blueshirts drafted Gabe Perreault this past June, he still remains one of the top prospects in the organizational pipeline. Although he’s not expected to make New York’s roster to begin the season, Sykora will be a player worth keeping an eye on tonight.
