Rangers Assign Scott Morrow to Hartford
After a brief call-up that never led to game action, Scott Morrow is headed back to the Wolf Pack as the Rangers’ blue line gets back to full strength.

Well, it was a fun five days.
After placing Vincent Trocheck on LTIR at the end of last week, the New York Rangers recalled defenseman Scott Morrow as insurance for Will Borgen, who at the time was questionable with an undisclosed ailment. Borgen did not end up missing any time, and with Carson Soucy set to return to action, the Rangers have made the decision to send Morrow back to Hartford.
A big add for the Wolf Pack’s blueline ahead of three games this week.#NYR | #HartUnleashed https://t.co/qZIeUji6yM

In hindsight, it really didn't make much sense for Scott Morrow to be up with the big club if there wasn't much intention to play him. Sure a Will Borgen injury could have changed things, but if signs were pointing to Borgen playing (and based on everything that went down with Schneider last season, it's fair to assume where the intent would lay) it would have made more sense for Connor Mackey to stick around as an extra, allowing Morrow to get the ice time everyone wants from him in Hartford.
At the end of the day, missing one game for a weekend's worth of NHL pay isn't the worst thing in the world by any means. As Keegan pointed out on X, Morrow comes as a much needed addition to Hartford's blue line as the Wolf Pack will look to bounce back after their third consecutive loss in Providence over the weekend. They will look to get their first win of the season as they will host the Springfield Thunderbirds Wednesday Night in the first of two "Battle of I-91" match-ups this week.
