Pavel Dorofeyev tied it on the power play, and Tye Kartye scored 89 seconds later as the Rangers erased a third-period deficit to wrap up their homestand with a win.

Wrapping up a homestand before hitting the road for a week, the New York Rangers took on their Pennsylvanian rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers. Coming off their win against the St. Louis Blues, the Rangers looked to keep the wins coming with the same lineup they rolled out earlier this week.

This would also be the Rangers' first outing in their new Hometown Remix jerseys.

First Period

It was a strong start for the Rangers as all four lines were rolling from the start. It took just four and a half minutes for the second line to be the one to put the team on the board first. After moving the puck down low, a shot from Marcus Pettersson at the point took a redirect off the stick of J.T. Miller to make it a 1-0 game.

As it turned out, the puck ended up going in off of Gabe Perreault after deflecting off of Miller's stick, so the goal would indeed go to Perreault.

Aside from that, it was a relatively low-event opening period save for a post hit by Pavel Dorofeyev—who has to lead the league in posts hit at this point.

The Rangers played probably one of their best opening periods of the season in all areas as they were at times dominant with the puck and maintained possession for most of the period. Despite the fact that the Flyers had the slightest edge in the shots-on-goal count (9-8), it was a great start for the Rangers, who led 1-0 heading into the first intermission.

Second Period

It wasn't as clean of a start for the Rangers, but it wasn't long before they were pushing the envelope on offense once again. The top line came close once again to adding to their team's lead as Alexis Lafrenière was robbed in the crease by defenseman Simon Benoit.

Just after the midway point of regulation, the Rangers failed to clear the zone, and a crazy one-time keep-in from Benoit sent the puck flying toward the net. With Scott Morrow battling Noah Cates in the slot, Dylan Garand was screened and the puck found the back of the net up high, 1-1 game.

The bad breaks continued as less than two minutes later, an unfortunate sequence resulted in Noel Acciari finding the puck right in front of the net to make it a 2-1 game. A shot from Jamie Drysdale went off the stick of Eeli Tolvanen and immediately found the stick of Denver Barkey. A quick turnaround found Acciari in front to put the Rangers behind on the scoreboard for the first time this evening.

With four and a half minutes to go in the second, the game finally had its first penalty. Nick Seeler was sent off for slashing Noah Laba in front of the Flyers' net. The Rangers' power-play woes continued as they had nothing to show for it after two minutes. Not long after, they would be shorthanded with Braden Schneider getting called for tripping. The Rangers would hold the Flyers off as they took a 2-1 deficit into the second intermission. Shots after two were 18-17 in the Rangers' favor.

Third Period

The line blender came out to start the third period as Dorofeyev did not see a shift for the first five minutes. Mika Zibanejad was being double-shifted at center as Will Cuylle was pushed back to the wing. As the period went on, the lines appeared as follows:

Lafrenière - Zibanejad - Perreault
Kartye - Miller - Bjorkstrand
Cuylle - Laba - Dorofeyev
Tolvanen - Zibanejad - Chmelař (used just once)

As the period went on, time was flying off the clock, and while the Rangers were getting chances, they still trailed by a goal. With just under seven minutes to go, the Rangers went back to the power play as Barkey was called for slashing.

It really felt as though this power play was a must-score situation for the Rangers, and the guy who needed one the most got it done. Dorofeyev let a shot go through the legs of a defender that beat Joseph Woll to tie the game at 2 with roughly six minutes to go in the third.

Just 89 seconds later, a great read from Adam Fox set up Tye Kartye for a partial breakaway. A simple wrist shot was all it took for him to find the back of the net, regaining the Rangers' lead, 3-2.

With that assist, Fox becomes the fastest defenseman since Brian Leetch to hit the 20-point mark in a season. Pretty elite, if you ask me.

With 80 seconds to go, the Flyers finally pulled Woll for the extra attacker. The Rangers had to battle a bit to hold them off and hit the post in the dying seconds as they picked up a much-needed victory over the Flyers. The Rangers continue to lead the league in home wins with eight on the season.

They will need to find a way to keep the wins coming as the Rangers hit the road from here, set to pay the Seattle Kraken a visit for a late-afternoon meeting on Saturday.
