Rangers to Open Season at Boston, Home Opener vs. Tampa Bay on Oct. 1
Two games of the 2026-27 season have been announced as the Rangers will open on the road in Boston before hosting Tampa.
With the full regular season schedule set to be announced Thursday, the NHL has released the home openers for all 32 teams in the league. The New York Rangers will visit the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, Sept. 29 for their first game of the 2026-27 season. This will be the league's first 84 game season since 1993-94.

The Rangers will host the Tampa Bay Lightning at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, Oct. 1. for their home opener. This will be the second time the Rangers host the Lightning in their home opener as they began the 2022-23 season with a 3-1 win in which Mika Zibanejad had a pair of goals.
