Gabe Perreault
There is really nothing this kid does that doesn't impress me. It wasn't just scoring another goal—he has a sneaky good shot—but it's the way he moves on the ice and what he does with the puck when it's on his stick. Sometimes it's bigger things like his positioning, his ability to hunt the puck, or his moving his feet to get into space. Other times it's the little things, like the one-touch flick pass in overtime with pressure on his back in the neutral zone to a cutting Will Cuylle.
I was fully sold on the idea that Perreault was fine starting the year in Hartford and spending time down there to develop. I am now leaning back toward pushing Cuylle down to the third line—especially since you shouldn't be sold on Juuso Parssinen yet—and letting Gabe have one of those open winger spots.
He is not making this an easy decision, that's for sure.
