Rangers vs. Flyers: The Hard Way

The Rangers pulled off a rare third-period comeback with four goals at home, but even a win like this feels more like survival than progress.

  • That's another one of those games where I'm happy the New York Rangers won, but I'm not sure there's a slew of positives to take away from it, at least on a macro level. This team is such a slog at times that them preforming the third-period comeback, all while scoring four goals (at home), is worth celebrating. But that says more about them than the win itself.
  • Artemi Panarin led the show, as per usual. Two goals from him, and then a brilliantly disgusting shootout move that had my jaw on the floor.
  • I thought this was another game where the kids were really good. Scott Morrow (more on him in a moment) was more of a mixed bag, but everyone made an impact. Noah Laba was noticeable all night. Gabe Perreault picked up an assist. Morrow had the primary assist on the Mika Zibanejad game-tying goal. It was good. Even Brennan Othmann was noticeable, including him getting his ass handed to him in that fight.
