Sis Paulsen Named Assistant Coach of Riveters

The NWHL announced this morning that Sis Paulsen, former head coach at New England College, will join head coach/GM Chad Wiseman behind the Riveters bench this fall.

Paulsen issued this statement via the NWHL:

"I am honored and humbled to work alongside Coach Wiseman and the entire Riveters organization,” said Paulsen. “The NWHL is made up of the best female hockey players in the world and I am excited to work with these elite athletes.”

According to the press release, Paulsen played for the University of Wisconsin from 1999 to 2003, then earned an MS in Sports and Recreation Management (Coaching) in 2011 from New England College. Paulsen is a Level 4 graduate of USA Hockey’s Coaching Education Program, and serves as the USA Hockey Girls and Women’s Section Representative for the Atlantic District. Before joining the Riveters, Paulsen became the Director of Girls Hockey for the New Jersey Colonials, one of the most established girls' hockey programs in the region.

No word yet from the Riveters about whether 2015-16 assistant coach Mark DeSimone will also return, in any capacity.
