Stanley Cup Playoffs Open Thread Day 10

Three games, three possibilities of handshakes are on the schedule for tonight’s action. They are as follows:

Philadelphia Flyers vs Pittsburgh Penguins: Game 5 (PIT leads 3-1) 19:00 EDT on NBCSN

Minnesota Wild vs Winnipeg Jets: Game 5 (WPG leads 3-1) 19:30 EDT on USA Network

Colorado Avalanche vs Nashville Predators: Game 5 (NSH leads 3-1) 21:30 on NBCSN

Predictions:

With four blowout wins in the first four games of the series, the possibility of handshakes brings us our first competitive game between Pittsburgh and Philly, with the Flyers staving off elimination via a 3-2 win.

With Josh Morrissey suspened for tonight’s game, the Jets will look to bear down in front of a raucous home crowd and move on to the second round. The Winnipeg franchise will secure their first ever playoff series victory with a 4-1 win.

The Avalanche have kept this series surprisingly close, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. They’ll turn to Andrew Hammond to try and extend their season tonight, but it won’t be enough. The Predators will advance without the services of suspended forward Ryan Hartman by a final score of 3-0.
