The Hartford Wolf Pack kicked off a pivotal five-game road trip on Saturday night. They visited the Providence Bruins for another key divisional matchup.

However, it would be all Bruins on this night. Providence struck seven times on their way to a 7-0 decision.

Bruin Beatdown

Providence opened the score just over the ten minute mark in the opening period. Ty Gallagher flung a shot from the blueline that beat Spencer Martin to give the Bruins a lead they wouldn't lose.

Victor Söderström doubled the lead about six minutes later, sniping a shot by Martin. Providence carried that lead into the first intermission.

Gallagher potted his second goal of the game just over the halfway mark in the contest. Gallagher tipped a pass from Lukas Reichel into the Hartford net to triple the lead.

Providence potted their first power play goal of the contest about two minutes later, hammering his own rebound by Martin.

The Wolf Pack got into their first fight of the contest just a few seconds later. Scott Morrow laid a massive hit in the neutral zone, and Gallagher challenged him immediately. Morrow eventually scored the takedown after a spirited tilt.

Providence tacked on three more goals in the final frame. Michael Callahan lasered a shot from the point by Martin to make it 5-0.

Gallagher completed the hat trick just over two minutes later, banking a shot off a Wolf Pack defender and into the net.

Söderström capped off the scoring just over a minute later. At that point, Dylan Garand replaced Martin in net.

Hartford was unable to find the net in the remainder of the contest, but Jackson Dorrington convincingly won a tilt against Fabian Lysell in the waning minutes of regulation time.

The loss was Hartford's third in a row. Thanks to a regulation loss by Bridgeport, they remain just six points back of the playoff cut line in the Atlantic Division.
