The Hartford Wolf Pack capped off the 2025 portion of their schedule on Wednesday afternoon. They welcomed the Bridgeport Islanders to town for round four of the Battle of Connecticut this season.

However, the Wolf Pack simply couldn't find a goal in the contest. Bridgeport struck four times to secure a 4-0 decision.

The rivals played an entertaining opening period, but neither could find the net. Kalle Väisänen had the best chance of the period, firing three quick shots on Henrik Tikkanen, but the Bridgeport netminder stood tall against them on his way to stopping 11 shots in the period. At the other end of the ice, Spencer Martin denied all nine shots he faced from the visitors to send the game into the first intermission in a scoreless tie.

Bridgeport finally broke the ice 11 minutes into the second period. Alex Jefferies netted the goal, wiring a shot from the right circle over Martin's shoulder to give the Islanders the game's first lead.

18 seconds later, the Islanders doubled the lead. Liam Foudy beat the Wolf Pack defense, went to the backhand, and stuffed a shot by Martin to make it a 2-0 game. Bridgeport took that lead into the second intermission.

Adam Beckman tacked on a goal just 2:20 into the third period, and Chris Terry capped off the scoring with an empty net goal in the final minutes of regulation.

"We had some looks, I just didn't think we were allowed to get to our game tonight," Wolf Pack head coach Grant Potulny told Blueshirt Banter after the game. "Our execution off the rush wasn't there, and even early, we were trying to put pucks behind them, but it wasn't getting to the goal line."

To start 2026, the Wolf Pack will play ten straight games against divisional opponents.

"January's moving month," Potulny told Blueshirt Banter. "We gotta make sure that we're prepared and we get points any time we can."
