Welcome to Wolf Pack Recap, a weekly column exclusively at Blueshirt Banter. Each week, we'll review the Hartford Wolf Pack's previous week, highlight top performances, and preview the upcoming slate.

After a pair of wins on opening weekend, the Hartford Wolf Pack had their first three-in-three of the 2026-27 season this weekend. They hit the road for a matchup against their New England rivals, the Providence Bruins, before hosting their home opener against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. They wrapped up the weekend by welcoming the Laval Rocket, and a couple old friends, to town.

The Wolf Pack opened the stretch with a win on the road, but their homecoming was spoiled thanks to two tough losses.

Let's take a look back at the Wolf Pack's weekend.

  • In the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the AHL is limited to scheduling just 65 three-in-threes per season, working out to two per team. Hartford's first was this weekend.
  • The Wolf Pack kicked off the weekend in Providence for the first of 12 matchups against the Bruins.
  • The game was also the return to Providence for Wolf Pack bench boss Jay Leach. Leach previously spent four seasons as head coach of the P-Bruins.
  • Glenn Gawdin got the scoring started, potting a nifty backhander to break the ice for his first in a Wolf Pack uniform.
  • Nathan Aspinall got the primary assist on the tally, as a shot by Taylor Raddysh clipped ricocheted off him and right to Gawdin for the goal. Those types of assists never fail to make me laugh a bit.
  • This game was also the first game back in Wolf Pack colors for Matthew Robertson, who was assigned to Hartford on Tuesday after clearing waivers. He and Marc Del Gaizo had a great game on the top pair.
  • The game was Robertson's 251st regular season matchup with the Wolf Pack. If he plays five more games for Hartford, he'll pass Dane Byers and Brandon Scanlin, both with 255 contests, for 10th most games played all time.
  • It wouldn't be crazy to see Robertson work his way to 8th all time by the end of the campaign - he'd have to pass Bryce Lampman (258 GP) and Derek Armstrong (265 GP).
