After a gut-wrenching loss to the New York Islanders at the Garden on Thursday night, the New York Rangers are back against the Isles today. On Thursday, the Rangers dominated the shot share in the final two periods of the game, and allowed just one shot in the third period. However, the Islanders scored the game-winning goal on that one shot.
The Rangers come into today’s game riding a five-game losing streak with a record of 2-6-2 in their last 10 games. This is the Rangers last meeting with the Islanders this season. The Isles leading scorers at 5-on-5 this season are Brock Nelson (24 points in 42 games) and Mathew Barzal (23 points in 42 games). At all strengths, Barzal leads the pack with 41 points this season.
