Game #11: New York Rangers vs Nashville Predators Open Thread

After a couple of days off to bask in the glory of knocking off Tampa Bay, the Rangers are back in action for a Saturday matinee down in Nashville. The Predators will welcome the Blueshirts into the Bridgestone Arena for the first of two meetings between these interconference foes.

Tuesday’s bold decision to make Marc Staal a healthy scratch paid dividends in the form of two points for David Quinn, so the veteran defenseman will watch his second consecutive game from the press box this afternoon. The rest of the lineup will also be the same, aside from Alexandar Georgiev starting in goal while Henrik Lundqvist rides pine.

The Predators have taken at least a point (6-1-2) in eight of their nine home contests to open the season. It’ll take everything the Blueshirts can muster in order to hand Nashville its second regulation loss in the Music City,

Player to Watch: Ryan Lindgren

Lost in the shuffle of Filip Chytil’s recall and sensational season debut, Ryan Lindgren was also called up and made his season debut alongside Chytil. Skating in place of Marc Staal, Lindgren had a quiet night on Tuesday, and will look to play another quiet, mistake free game in order to secure his spot in the lineup moving forward. If not, he’ll likely find himself on the next Greyhound bus back to the insurance capital of the world.

Enjoy the game!
