Game #73: New York Rangers vs Colorado Avalanche Open Thread

It’s wheels up for the Rangers as they kick off their final road trip of the regular season out west tonight. Ball Arena in Denver is the site for tonight’s contest between the Blueshirts and Colorado Avalanche in what is the toughest game remaining on the schedule for Peter Laviolette’s squad. The Avalanche are in a dogfight with the Dallas Stars and Winnipeg Jets for the Central Division crown, and are one of six teams in position to clinch a playoff spot tonight.

That clinching will have to wait for another day if New York has its way. The Rangers have rattled off three consecutive wins against teams currently in playoff position and will look to make it four tonight. The forward rotation Laviolette has previously spoken about will continue, as Matt Rempe will sit as a healthy scratch tonight. Colorado will serve as one final test of how the Rangers stack up among the NHL’s elite teams heading into the playoffs, so look for a strong effort out of the team tonight/

Player to Watch: Alex Wennberg

Wennberg was out of the lineup on Tuesday as he and his wife welcomed a daughter into the world, but the new girl dad is back in action tonight. Keep an eye on Wennberg as he returns to the ice and looks to help the Rangers earn another victory.

Enjoy the game!
