Meet The New Boss, Same as the Old Boss

1. On the July 6 episode of 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman and Kyle Bukauskas recapped the NHL off-season, team by team. When they got to the New York Rangers, Bukauskas ran through the club's biggest moves before asking, in light of both The Letter 2.0 and the New York Knicks' championship, how quickly the Blueshirts could engineer a similar turnaround.

"I think it's a bigger job; a much bigger job," Friedman said. "But there was a time when the Knicks looked like an enormous job, too."

Friedman also touched on the recent news that Quentin Dolan will take over the Rangers' day-to-day operations. While admitting he doesn't know much about him, Friedman said he doesn't expect the change to have much noticeable impact.

Fox Off

2. Friedman also shared a quick update on Adam Fox, revealing that teams have asked Chris Drury about his availability only to be told, essentially, to "get lost."

He also praised the Rangers' revamped blue line.

"I like their defense a lot more," he said. "I think they'll be better in front of Shesterkin."
