Report: Rangers and Ryan Strome File Salary Proposals for Arbitration
There is a bit of a difference between the two sides heading into their hearing.
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports the arbitration filings for the New York Rangers and Restricted Free Agent center Ryan Strome.

A couple of things to keep in mind here is that this is the final year of Ryan Strome’s restricted free agency and is looking to cash in on a big season playing next to Artemiy Panarin. This past season Strome finished with 59 points in 70 games, and since joining the Rangers he’s skated 133 total games posting a line of 36-56-92.
For the Rangers, they still have Brendan Lemieux to sign and can walk away from any arbitration settlement that is over $4,538,958 this season.
It is going to be a tight fit if the Blueshirts manage to get Strome signed before their November 5th hearing, odds are this one is going to the arbiter.

Would leave ~$2.2m in cap space (assuming a 23-man roster) for Lemieux, which is more than plenty

The Rangers look like they have more cap space than they do in reality, and this is because of the team’s bonus situation with their young players on entry-level contracts.
